Ignorance!! for alot of people, breast feeding isnt for them. And alot of people in this world are so close minded to how life is... I wonder how some of them would have feed their children before Similac and Enfamil came along.... God made a woman to be able to care for her child by allowing her body to produce the nutrients that child would need until they could eat real food.. its a fact of life and people need to get a grip on themselves and accept it... Breast feeding wasnt for me... I bottle feed my kids, but it doesnt bother me to see someone doing it...

In some cultures it is not acceptable for a woman to show her skin in public, I can see why they would be offended at a breast. Another possibility is that they were raised in a different time. My husband's grandma didn't breast feed any one of her 5 children, just because it wasn't the "thing" back then. This could be another reason.
I'm not saying I agree with it, because I think breast feeding is a beautiful thing, and should be more accepted in the public eye.

Because as young children we are told that a woman's breasts are part of her private parts. If a woman wasn't breast feeding we wouldn't expect to see her exposed breast in the mall , church , a restaurant. But suddenly because she has a baby her breast is no longer private and does not need to be conceled? I breastfed my kids but never in public. If we were going to be out or company was at our home I expressed ahead of time. I think it is a beautiful experience for mother, baby, father and maybe siblings but the rest of the world doesn't need to share in it.

People who are offended by a woman feeding her baby the natural way should be ashamed! There is nothing wrong with it...I could see if the mother just let "it all hang out" that would be different. but there are many ways to feed your baby and not be tacky..I personal encourage mothers to breastfeed when and where needed....Hey..when your baby is crying that its hungry, you can't very well pick and chose when and where to feed him\her....

Because parents don't want their kids to know the real purpose of breasts. They want their kids to grow up believing all the crap they see on *other* magazine covers!! (And those show a lot *more* breast.)

And, by the way, I *did* show it to my 16 year old son. He saw a breastfeeding photo--not a breast. Maybe the parents who are worried about their teens should consider what they are teaching these kids!

For some people, it is slightly uncomfortable to see exposed skin. It depends on what you are used to and what you are around. I personally want to go up to the mother and congratulate her for her wonderful gift to her child, and her sense of pride in being able to do such a beautiful thing without a worry.

Because people are ignorant...its a harmless womens magazine. I think that its a beautiful picture. Public breastfeeding is fine...as long as you are discreet and cover yourself with a receiving blanket. I can understand people being upset if your boob is hanging out. I did it whenever my son was hungry...to heck with people who were offended At one point I had to feed my child in church!! My pastor heard my baby whimpering...and he just looked at me and said feed him. So I did

Because they're stupid and uneducated. They try to blame their own failure to breastfeed on other breastfeeding mothers who were smart enough to get the help and not give up so easily.

I would be offended! That's not what you want a bunch of teenagers seeing, they don't read that mag, lets hope, and if they passed a mag trolley and saw that, can you imagine what a teenage boy would say!
