If people could get past the "power" thing. If we could all look at each other and see that no matter what color we are, what religion, we are all basic human beings. We are all concieved, born, we eat, sleep, smile ,cry, only our skin is different. And we will all die. This is a question that I think is more for MEN to answer. Men are the ones that are all gung-ho on war. We women do not want to bring a beautiful, wonderful child into this world, just to see him end up maimed or mutilated, or dead, after all the raising, and love. What the hell is it all for, really. and don't tell me all about freedom. I know all that. Why do we have to kill each other to prove our points.?

GOD. People say often "that it will never be done" but if you examine the word of God you will discover that it will happen. Here is the scripture:
2 Peter 3:12-14 (King James Version)
12Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

We seem to think we are always going thru this cycle for the first time. The 2 critical points are: (1) When we are in bondage, we rebel. (2) When we are in abundance, we get greedy. We are in the greedy/dependency stage.
I would add a third. (3) Belief in a creator is crucial. Not saying what religion, but belief in creator.
Quote:
The average age of the world's great civilizations has been 200 years. These nations have progressed through this sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith;
from spiritual faith to great courage;
from courage to liberty;
from liberty to abundance;
from abundance to selfishness;
from selfishness to complacency;
from complacency to apathy;
from apathy to dependency;
from dependency back again to bondage.”
Sir Alex Fraser Tytler (1742-1813) Scottish jurist and historian

Only war brings about peace. And only war makes us appreciate peace.

If all the people who believe in the apocolypse are taken away by their god, the rest of us might have a chance to live in peace.

Unfortunately I feel that the only thing that would ever do that would have to be a threat not of this world, so we would HAVE to unite as one. Would that ever happen? You tell me.

World peace is a great idea, but it'll never happen. It's in our nature to destroy ourselves.
