My preg test showed a second line so light you could barely see it. My question is this. I have doc appointment in 2 weeks. Should I see if I can get it for this week. I'm taking prenatals already etc.

Congratulations. A Faint line is still a line. With my 2nd, the line was very faint, but I took another test a week later...(just because I had bought a 2 pack) and it was much darker then. You don't need to see the doctor until your already scheduled appointment in 2 weeks. Just eat healthy, take your vits and no drinking or smoking. You and baby will be fine. A lot of Doctors don't schedule the first prenatal exam until 6 weeks pregnant, (some longer).

Any second line that's visible is considered a positive result, even if it's really light. Take another test in a couple of days and see if the line's darker - that will tell you for sure if you're pregnant. There's no rush to get into the doctor just because of a positive test. In fact, some doctors won't even let women come to see them until they're 12 weeks along because there's nothing they can do for them, really, other than give them vitamins (which you can buy yourself)

Good luck and Happy and HEALTHY 9 months!

You are pregnant if a second line shows up. It does not matter how faint it is ... Possiteve is possitive. There is probably no reason to get in any sooner there isn't much they could do. BUT you should call the office and stop by to have a test performed in the office so they can confirm your pregnancy and be ready for your appointment in 2 weeks. If you dont then in 2 weeks they will confirm it and you'll have to come back in again for the first pregnancy appt. where they do the pap smear and blood work.

Those pregnancy tests usually come with more than one in a box for a reson, take another! Or, go to a dollar store, they usually have some and you could get several. The more you take, you can see a pattern. How early is it? If it's really early on those home pregnancy tests (except for that special early one) won't always pick up the hormone.

The test should be able to tell you how soon after ovulation (typical is greater than 8 days) it'll work.

False positives are very rare, false negatives aren't. Wait a few days and test again.

The same thing happened to me...and I was in fact pregnant! I'm now 10 weeks along. An actual appointment with the doctor may not do you too much good at this early stage though...I'd call and see if you can just come in and see a nurse or lab tech to do a urine pregnancy test with them before you come in for you scheduled appointment. That way you'll have the results from that too. Best wishes!

No, I would just wait until your app. So if you are pregnant it will show up for sure!! You don't want to take one to early, Sometimes when the lines show up and you can barley see them then its a false pregnancy test. So just relax, try not to think of it until your app. gets here, an let your doctor know about the test. Keep taking your prenatal pills.

Just wait for your appointment. Just call and let the doctor know you took a pregnancy test and it came back positive but with a very faint line. they may want to get you in to do lab work to see if you are pregant because most doctors wont go by a home pregnancy test.

I would wait to see the dr in two weeks. It is possible that you had a bad pregnancy test or that you are pregnant but not far enough along to tell yet. If you don't start your period within the nest two weeks have the nurse/dr give you a pregnancy test to be sure.

No just go ahead and wait for the appointment you've got your prenatals. That way if you are pregnant. More will show on the ultrasound.
