My car is a 2002 Land Rover Discovery. The window is rolled all the way down. I tired pulling up a little on the window and using the switch with no luck. When using the switch the window doesn't move at all but the motor does run. Any suggestion on what the problem may be. Off track? Motor not working? Regulator broken?

it maybe just does not have enough power to roll the window up, it just needs to be replaced.

It sounds like the window came off the track. Either that or the track might have broken off the motor. Try to pull off the cover in side the door and take a look. Or take to your dealer and tell them.

I am not sure, but I will assume that your vehicle will have a clutch mechanism, to prevent any physical damage when jammed. It sounds like that your window track is jammed, distorted, dirty, etc. It can be accessed by pulling off the door panel, or take it to an authorized service center.

usually this is caused by a notched belt that connects the window to the motor, either the window is off track or the belt is broken.

Contact your local dealer and ask them what it will cost to change the window regulator. The same thing happened to my Frontier and they replaced a defective regulator. Good luck !

maximum use a Plastic Strip or Wires artwork like a Belt (i wager) the motor only strikes the Strip/Wires up or down and it connected to the widow. There also some pulleys for the Strip to run in. you need to be able to be certain if the panel off. The strip could properly be broke or off target. in case you'll locate to get the window up, you may properly be able to carry window and attempt operating the motor. Watch fingers. you may get it up. If, it attempt to drop only rig you a timber strip you are able to hotel in bottom of door and lower than window to carry it up. many times 2-3 Bolts carry the motor and there like a body for the pulleys and wires it many times have Rivets preserving suitable and bottom. Then there some bots and nuts carry to the window. If this all is sensible. Sorry perfect i'm able to describe. I surely have lengthy previous to Junk yards and were given used ones for some autos, it no longer troublesome to do once you note what happening. many times those I fixed it may were ok had the Pulleys been wiped clean and re-lubed.

I had this exact thing happen to me. your glass pane in the window has come detached from the backets connecting it to the motor. good luck (or possibly one of the cogs moving the window has become stripped)
