Short answer Yes,

I think is it to do with the control of the water supply, the fighting in the south forced the people from that area,
I would speculate after the fight ends, the country wild destruction will mean the recovery effort will be focused were most of the population is now, the north.

Delaying the work need to get villages in the south habitable, no villagers, no agriculture, no need for water!

Will the ceasefire deal include some clause to allow water, from the south of Lebanon, to pumped to Israel?

Also I read this is article last week, but I don’t not know if it is itrue, don't I know were Wazzani Spring is.

“Few in the West now recalls that in 2002, Uri Saguy -- head of the Israeli water supply, as well as the former head of Israeli military intelligence -- warned that "war or forceful confrontation" would result if Lebanon continued to access its own water. (This, despite the fact that the Lebanese had already allowed Israel to install pumps at the springs.) ….
…When the current conflict ends, Israel will control the Wazzani Springs.”

Remember, the victors write the history so why not, who going to stop them. US on their side, Iran and Syria don't have a way of delivering nukes and Isael does, which is why the arab countries don't try and take out Israel. But I don't think they would have gone in just to play patty cake patty cake with Hesbolaugh, they are going to kick some tail. And if a few thousand babies and children die so what, but then I guess the unguided rockets that the Hesbolaugh send in don't count for nothing eaither.

Probably, but lets not forget that Israel as a sovereign country has an obligation to defend itself against what it sees as an agressor. Hizbollah has been and is still attacking Israel. The other Arab countries in the area are too afraid of Israel to attack it themselves so they underhandedly support anything that will wage war on their behalf. Hizbollah has a fully operating propaganda machine as do most other terrorist organisations. They are quite willing to put innocent people in the firing line if it suits their purpose. I wonder would Mr Blair be as willing to protect UK citizens if they were facing the same type of attacks as the Israelis. Then again, he would probably sit down and negotiate with the terrorists and give them anything that will keep them sweet. He has form for that.

No they did not plan to flatten lebanon. They are doing this because the Hezbollah have kidnapped 2 of their soldiers, and started firering rockets into Israel. They have nothing against the Lebanese only with the Hezbollah, who won't let them live in peace.

They have NOT gone into Beirut (yet!) but yes it is clear that a part of the aim of the Israelis was to inflict unnecessary damage on Lebanon.

They had plans for a long time, they just used a lame excuse of 2 soldiers kidnapped to start a war.
