As a man, I don't date girls that have piercings/tatto's etc. I've been told it's a form of "expression" or expressing yourself. And what are you trying to say to society? Your angry? Your bent? Your hurt? Your anti-social? What message are you trying to convey, just like a person who is gay, but does not seem to offer much other than their sexuality(major discovery?)
It shows a dangerous persona, a person who takes will take risk without accessing the consequences.
But for the lemming's of society...GO FOR IT! When you stand for nothing, you go for anything...

Trouble with tattoo's is that you have to live with them permanently. What might seem to be the latest thing when you are in your 20's might not be so appealing when you are in your 40's, 50's 60's and 70's etc.
You still have to live with them.
Not sure what you mean by body piercings - if it is the belly-button thing - well, I suspect it would not be too noticable if you got fed up with it later on in life.
If it is the metalwork through the side of your mouth, I would try to think that through. If you took those out, would say a cup of tea come out through the hole? Too many of them and you could end up being like a watering can!
Don't be too hard on your friends, that is what individualism is all about, the chance to be different - just how you acheive it is the question. Some ideas and trends have better lasting power than others.

I have to say its not my type Not every guy likes that kind of girls Ear piercing is ok, well, you know that already, its normal But lip and nose and tongue and any other part piercing is not "liked' by everyone some people like it, others are completely turned off I don;t think many lawyers and doctors will want a wife with nose and lip piercing like a walking lightning rod

Well, I think it is because some women go overboard with it and the tatoos are not tastefully done or placed. Just as much thought should go into picking out a tattoo as if you are picking our an outfit, maybe even more, because it is so permanent. So many women jumped on the tattoo bandwagon just to be different like everyone else (kind of an oxymoron). I think if one is going to be different then they should consider other ways besides trying to "act" cool to fit in. I think this applies to body piercings as well.

My boyfriend has two piercings (I will leave the placement to your imagination), I have none. He has 3 tattoos, I have 2. To each his own. I think they are attractive when they are not extreme.
So here is a female that is not put off the piercings and tattoos.

Do you know what those are going to look like when you're older? Take a look at a 60+ yr old with tattoos and you'll know where I'm coming from. Same goes with the piercings.

I didn't know they were! I think they are an artistic way to express oneself. I have no tattoos or piercings other than my ears but I've never been put off by these.

depends whose wearing them doesn it?
i dont like piercings on the face, a bar thru the nose doesnt do anythin 4 me! however, a tattoo is quite sexy on a nice toned arm... hmmm. yum
a tatoo on the back of the shoulder is also sexy i think. i got a temporary tattoo in london on the back of my right shoulder. i relaly liked it!! unfortunatley it only lasted a day and a half. my butterfly was falling apart after that!

I like them, as long as they are "tasteful". This guy I met on line recently just went out on a first date. He got both ears pierced with a small hoop b/c I told him I thought it was sexy! He did it to impress me and I loved it!
Tattoos are the same - tastefully!

well considering the fact that that part of your skin will never look the same and its not at all appealing for a woman to have caricature on her body. It's too late now, if you have piercing in your nose or lip well thats just ouch!
