u2 is a rock band.they sing beautiful day, verigo,one feating mary j bige.but they played in the 90's too.

Are you for real? Who doesn't know who U2 is?!?!? Anyways, U2 is, in my opinion, the best band ever. The band was formed in Dublin, Ireland1976 by Larry Mullen Jr (he's the drummer and was 14 at the time) Bono (real name Paul Hewson and the singer) The Edge (David Evans, guitarist) and Adam Clayton (bass) joined the band along with Dik Evans (Edge's brother who left the band) and younger boy who they kicked out of the band. They were originaly called Feedback, than The Hype and finally U2. They released their first full lengthed album in 1980 and it was titled Boy.

U2 has spent a year touring on their Vertigo tour (I WENT!!!) and they postponed it for awhile and now they will be back to those shows soon. They also are working on new material (YAY!) They sing songs like Sunday Bloody Sunday, Pride (in the name of love), I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, With or Without You, Desire, All I Want is You, Mysterious Ways, One, Beautiful Day, Stuck in a Moment you Can't Get Out of, Vertigo, Original of the Species. Honestly if you never heard of U2, do you not listen to the radio?? Bono is also doing a lot of work for Africa and the One Campaign.

I think U2 is awesome. They're Irish and Bono, the lead singer, is great at getting involved with world issues. He give benefit concerts and speaks out for great causes. One of my favorite songs is "One Love". A music video just came out with U2 and Mary J. Blige singing it, LOVE IT! I also like "With or Without You" cuz it's a classic. U2 reminds me of Depeche Mode in that they have been around FOREVER and they're still going strong. Kinda like the Stones too, except that U2 isn't only known for they're "old stuff" they constantly come out with new, innovative, brilliant music.

They are a band. The only song I know they sing is a song called Vertigo. My brother loves them. I'm not a fan
