It doesn't 'disappear', but it can 'hide'. If you cannot retrieve it, call your doctor or nurse practitioner. They will work you in and it usually just takes a minute to find and remove it. It is usually painless, but may have a strong odor if it has been longer than one day. These situations lend themselves to infection so they may give you a prescription for an antibiotic. Don't be embarrassed - it happens.

U mean get lost in there, yes they can. If u can't find it and have tried all u can u need to go to the doctor and have them get it out. u can't leave a tampon in for more than 6-8 hours, you can get sick. The emergency room will take care of it.

First of all are you sure you havent taken it out as this has happened many times when i have been drunk, got in and taken it out only to panic next morning! If you know it is definately in there, bear down with your stomach muscles as though you are pushing out a baby (!) and try to locate the string or end with your clean fingers. If you cannot reach ask your mum. If they won't or can't help please see a doctor as soon as possible as you could risk toxic shock syndrome if you ignore it.

It can't disappear inside you, as your vaginal canal stops a few inches inside your body. The string has probably just found it's way up in there. Use your finger to find it and pull it out.

If you can't find it, relax it's still in there.

Relax and lie down on the bed. Insert one fonger and begin working your way up. Trust me, it's still there, you simply have to find it.
