run a business in Japan if you are American? I am thinking of becoming a fashion designer. My fashion would be mostly Gothic Lolita and the sort and I would love to have my company located on Harajuku street. I'm not sure if that is acceptable in Japan, does anyone know?

It would be acceptable if you have a visa that allows you to work in Japan.

Unless you have a VERY large amount of money, and can speak Japanese well, I'd say your chances are less than zero. Rents there are some of the highest in the world. And you can't sign any contracts or talk to anyone if you can't speak Japanese. Sorry, nice dream though.

You must have alot of money because the rent there is very high. I don`t know if gothic clothing would go big over there... but if you have the cash go try it. You~ll probably need a passport.and all your vaccines up to date unless they changed all of that.
