Absolutely not CityGent.
As a person who has spent many years in the countryside - which is always portrayed as all pro hunting - it is not.
The alternative to killing as a sport is to ride out on drag hunts (which is setting up a scent run to follow with some meat from the butchers).
I am sure there are many people who used to hunt that really believed that they were "controlled killing". The inescapable fact is that many hunts abused animal rights and local villagers' land.
It has to be questioned how any person can logically believe that rituals and sporting thrills can be gained from the chase of an animal (fox or stag). If culling is required that should follow humane processes, not one that includes dressing up, having a glass of wine and celebrating.
Unfortunately, many of the pro-hunting lobby have made a mockery of their argument by trying to make it a countryside/townie debate. It was never about that - it was about anti-cruelty legislation as some educated people could not comprehend the difference between right and wrong.
If some of these hunting people had their way, they would bring back bear baiting. But, popular society banned that many years ago as laws over time in all countries are driven by mass recognition.
The extremist pro-hunt lobby by not allowing any compromise in to their methods, showed that the urge to kill for fun was their prime concern, not the "humane killing of pests" as they had stated.

No, because....
Its cruel.
Its not a blood sport, sport has 2 equal sides who choose to take part, nonw of that applies to fox hunting.
It may well be traditional, but so is child labour and slavery - should we bring those back?
IThe natural fox population doesnt need man's "help" to contain numbers, a limited food supply will see to that.

No, no, NO! It's horribly cruel and wrong. Instead they should introduce a new sport.... chav hunting. All the toffs mount their horses and go galloping through all the run-down areas hunting chavs. It keeps the toffs happy and the chavs at bay. Also, no foxes get brutally slayed.

NO, its a blood sport, people (or using dogs) killing Innocent animals for pleasure, what pleasure can people possibly get out of watching a fox or rabbit being torn to piece's by a dog, defenceless to do any thing to defend themselves, keep the ban in!! would you like to be put in a corner with nowhere to go with 10 or more dogs ready to rip you to piece's?

If there is a category for bull fighting, shouldn't there be one for fox hunting? That means you wouldn't have to put the Q in "Darts"!
Anyway, to answer your question - it depends.
Happy to clarify!
