I'd go out with him, gay or straight. Really intelligent man, and great company I'd imagine.

He plays a lot more than those - damn fine actor. McKellen is a honey and 'tis a pity he is a queer. I would happily ravish him if he was available in the hetero world.

It does not bother me that he is gay, but go out with him a big no no. I am sure he is a very nice person but when he was in coronation street it turned me right off. I was glad when he finished his time in it and sincerely hope they do not bring him back. I know he is a good actor but not in that part.

It's a tricky one - I am not gay either, so logically no. Even if he was gay I wouldn't go out with him. And if I was gay and he wasn't, then I still wouldn't go out with him.
