As an avid movie watcher and fan of horror through the years, I can point you in the right direction. All of these movies are available on DVD right now.
1) The Friday the 13th series (never fails)
2) The first 4 Nightmare on Elm Street movies
3) Freddy vs. Jason (a fun, bloody battle between 2 of horror's greatest slashers)
4) The Thing (get the one with Kurt Russell. Very nasty, and will keep you guessing)
5) An American Werewolf in London (a classic werewolf movie. The transformation scene will make almost anyone squirm)
6)The Howling (another great werewolf movie, but more intense )
7) Halloween (the original slasher movie. A fun watch)
8) Alien (It looks like a science fiction movie, but it's pure horror. Full of great scares. Don't miss the classic dinner scene!!)
9)Evil Dead 2 (Like a cartoon on acid! This has laughs, scares, and lots of gore)
10) The Fly (the one with Jeff Goldblum and Gena Davis. Have a barf bag ready)
And if you just want a fun movie to watch as a group:
1) Dazed and Confused
2) Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
3) Fast Times at Ridgemont High
4) Caddyshack
5) Dogma
6) Kentucky Fried Movie (pure insanity)
Hope this helps. Enjoy!!

I don't know how old you girls/guys are but one of the most HORRIFIC films I ever saw was "EVENT HORIZON"
I don't suggest this except for "study purposes", seriously.
But I thought about the whole event horizon thing once I woke to BE VEGAN, and it made more sense to me at that point.
So once again I don't know how old you girls/guys are but.....
I really am glad I did not see any HORROR films when I was too young, when I got older I saw "a nightmare on elmstreet" and well it made sense to me, as a "movie-classic" I think the last scene where the mother gets pulled thru teh window is a classic scene, there's something SIMPLE yet thought-provoking about that scene imparticular, as teh daughter drives off in the car which is adorned with a roof cloth like freddy's shirt.....

The Ring would make it great because ANYTHING (even the slightest noise) would freak someone out after watching the movie. It's great fun and very interesting to prank call people after the movie.

properly i could recommend any movie with Robert Downey Jr. in it. he's hilarious. and also you incredibly incredibly shouldn't watch horror video clips. those issues have an severe impact on a people subconsciousness, which very nearly messes up your thoughts in techniques that human beings won't be able to even understand. stay faraway from something like that, please, on your own sake.
