Yes, I think so. When I was pregnant I used to go round to my friend's house, and her cats would go mad for it, lying all around the belly. Then my cat would also get snuggly on the belly, until my daughter started kicking him off from the inside! Hahaha

Sounds right... For one thing you would smell different. Ie the cat could detect the chemcials used for pregnancy kits probably,

Note one VERY important thing... cats can get jealous... when the baby is born make sure the cat gets lots of attention and not sidelined or may get upset with the baby and don't leave them alone together till truely used to each other.

Cats know hen you are hurt or upset, so prob see you as vunerable and in need of attention.

I think so ever since I got pregnant my cat has been acting less like a cat and more like a little baby. She used to lay on my belly all the time and even before I was showing she would walk over my stomach...

I think this is true. My mom's cat who has been around since I was 9, so technically she is my cat too but I don't live at home anymore, has been acting funny with me. She is not being nice to me. She actually is giving me tons of attitude, usually she is very lovable with me, but lately she has been being a little butt head. She walks away from me when I get by her, and when I pet her she starts licking that spot like if I gave her cooties. She is a brat.

But my dog on the other hand has become very protective over me. We were watching a action movie and my bf got excited and started to holler at the TV and the dog thought that he was doing it to me and got very protective, she barked at him and went and laid at my feet and kept an eye on him the whole night. It was kind of funny.

Congrats. Oh and make sure you are not the one changing the litter box, cat feces can cause birth defects.. be careful.

I am pregnant and have 4 cats....none of them are acting any differently so I would have to say no on that one.

She is in exertions. you do no longer ought to take her to the vet yet once you're no longer particular which you will help her then that must be splendid. She could decide for some companionship mutually as she is exertions. set up a advantageous snug spot for her to offer beginning and purely stay together with her and pat her. she would be able to no longer consume or drink in the previous and mutually as in exertions so don't be apprehensive approximately that :) stable success and that i'm hoping this helped :)

Yes, mine would not sit on me through my pregnancy, it started even before I knew I was pregnant. She would sit next to me as close as she possibly could, but not on my lap, and she stopped coming to bed with us, which she carried on after the baby was born.
She also became very motherly when the baby came home, she would come and see what was wrong when the baby was crying or let me know if he was awake. It was really sweet, but sadly I had to have her put to sleep 4 weeks ago and now I miss her being my sons second mum!!

I didnt notice my cats behaviour change much. They were a little freaked out when they got kicked by the baby inside ( on the rare occasion they crawled on my belly ) After my daughter was born one of my cats got really jealous and was terrible ( urinating on baby's laundry...) but afer a couple months he relaxed and stopped. My female cat became very protective of my daughter .. treated her almost like she was her kitten. ran over when she cried.. "washed her" with her tounge... slept near her ( not on her). It was actually kind of cute.
My friends dog before I got pregnant she would jump all over me and bark at me. before I even knew I was pregnant she stopped jumping on me .. became very calm and protective of me. Very happy to see me when I come in... escorts me to my chair... etc.. Its kind of weird.
So ya im sure that animals can sense it.

It can probably tell that something is different (you don't smell the same) but not specifically what that difference is. I still remember the stunned look on my cat's face when my unborn daughter kicked her as she was lying next to me in bed.
