Well, I guess Thailand, China, and Malaysia are the safest country you can consider. These countries have adequate level of infrastructure, medical service, and low standard of living.

Travel in the region! Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia are fine destinations. And they don't cost an arm or a leg. Moreover, you only have 3-5 days.
