Regardless of how mature someone is, if they've graduated from high school OR college, married or not... what should be the minimum age before someone should get pregnant?

I think AT LEAST 21 years old and you MUST be married.

How is it that you have to have a driver's license to drive a car, a dog license to have a dog, a pilot's license to fly a plane but you don't have to have a license to have a child?

For a young woman getting pregnant early can put serious strain on her bones and body. Best age would be around 22 and up but I think women should have to pass a test to make sure they're fit to be mothers. Most of us are, however you'll find a few nuts out there who will run to the store and leave their sleeping 4 month old at home alone and think that's ok.

Sperm can live up to a week, with about 3-5 days being most likely. Therefore, sex up to 5 days before ovulation can lead to pregnancy, with each day leading to ovulation increasing your chances more and more. So 5 days before ovulation makes it likely to get pregnant, while the day before makes it VERY likely to get pregnant. Having said that, you still only have a 20-25% chance of getting pregnant each month, even when you do everything right on time. Take it from me, I've been trying to get pregnant for 11 cycles, and chart ovulation every month. It happens for others much easier, though. Hope this helps.

I think in an ideal world, nobody would have kids before they were, say 21. Graduated from college and established in a career would be even better; the maturity issue sort of takes care of itself that way.

It's not an ideal world, though. And the best we can hope for is to educate kids about preventing teen pregnancies and hope that there are fewer girls leaving high school to have babies in the future.

i think as soon as your body is physically mature enough....the problem is not every womans body matures at the same time but I think 18- 20 is a good age for a womans healthy body.......but ofcourse there are other things that you should have before getting prego...like money and lots of it.....you dont HAVE to be married in my opinion........

That's really tough, because it really can depend on maturity. I know very responsible 15 year olds and very immature 25 year olds, so its hard to say, but 18 I guess, because that is adulthood.
