Since you're asking in the philosophy area, I'll assume you're not talking about practicing medicine. And if you're not talking about medicine, the answer is no.
To gain a doctorate degree, you usually have to contribute in some way to to sum total of human knowledge. Usually you write a long dissertation and then defend it in a grueling interrogation by other people with doctorates. Now, since the dissertation has to be ABOUT SOMETHING, presumably, so will your doctorate.
