I don't think a woman is truly beautiful unless she is a little bigger than what is considered the norm. Madison Avenue and anorexic/bulemic models and celebrities have us brainwashed into thinking you're not beautiful or worthy unless you almost disappear when you turn sideways. This is not healthy for us, for them, or for the world. And women who have hardbodies, sixpack abs, and built like boys/weight-lifters are usually only attractive to very shallow people, themselves, and closet queens who are afraid to be their true, worthy selves. You are what you are and you ain't what you ain't. We're all beautiful.

How big are you? I'm only 5'7 and I once weighed 245 lbs. I was like that for five years after my fiancee passed away. I was depressed, and didn't want to deal with it, so I ate until I was sleepy and calm, nature's unhealthy tranquilizer. I was miserable and unattractive, even to myself. I didn't even try to date. I, too, felt like I didn't deserve anybody.

I took nerve medication for about six months, lost most of the weight, and I soon met a slightly bigger woman, 5'2 and 155 lbs. My deceased fiancee had always been very thin. My new girlfriend calmed me down and made me feel so much better than the meds ever did, or the gluttony before that. I didn't need either of those vices anymore.

I'd lost most of my weight painlessly. Stay away from diet pills---they're killers, especially on an already overstrained heart and shaky nerves. I've never liked diet pop, so I traded my soda for lemonade, tea, and fruit juices, but mostly just good plain water. I quit eating at bedtime. I eat my last meal or snack at least two to three hours before bedtime. And mostly, now I just eat until I'm not hungry. I'd trained myself to eat until full. You can untrain yourself of that bad habit, too, and it becomes natural after awhile. These three things were all painless, as I'd said. And I took the weight off the same way I put it on, one pound at a time.

That's where most diets fail. If you don't look like Brad Pitt or Paris Hilton in a week or a month, just give up. Baloney. Stick with it. You're worth it.

I stll weigh 185, which is 20-30 lbs. past what the health chart says I should weigh. But I feel much better than when I was 245. I'd also been down to 165-170 for a short while, and I had chronic headaches, I was angry often, which I'd never been in my life, and I was aggressive, too much so.

So go by your own chart and learn to love yourself. That's the secret. And if that husband is any good, he'll always be trying to make you feel better about yourself, not ignoring your problem or making it worse. If he's the one having the problem or if he's on you about your weight, then he's the one who doesn't deserve you. But only you can help yourself with that.

Even if you're very heavy, you're still worthy of love, especially from yourself. That's where it all starts. God bless and I hope you feel better. Peace and love.

Unlike a lot of American men, I actually prefer a women who has "curves". I don't want a women who looks like a boy. Having said that, though, there is such a thing as being obese. I find that to be most unattractive. You didn't say how big you were, but I would say that if you are within 30 pounds of what the military called your optimum weight (meaning 180 pounds if your military max weight is 150) then you are simply "curvy". If you are much over that, then you are obese, and even more important that being physically attractive or unattractive, you also have the health problems associated with obesity.

i know a lot of guys that think bigger women are better.... i have one guy friend who is really turned off by skinny women, and my boyfriend hates it if if go on a diet or try to lose weight, and I'm not skinny. The main thing is just to be comfortable with yourself and confident. guys hate it when girls complain about their weight(and we all do it), most guys i know would rather be with a bigger girl who's secure with herself then a smaller girl that isn't.

I think healthy is beautiful. If bigger were in style, then all the skinny girls would have self-esteem problems and would be trying unhealthily to put on weight. You have a husband...obviously you're good enough for him! I don't think he would marry you if you weren't. Plus, do you think he would be into it if you got bone skinny yourself?
