Actually depending on the font size. If I am using quite a big font size, I would just use 1, but for those smaller font size, I would defnitey use 1.5 or 2 if these are not too close between the lines.

I'm used to 2 spaces, but the APA style requires 1 space, so I spend a lot of time trying to correct the mistakes...

When i learnt typewriter i use to give single spaces between the words and double spaces between the sentences i.e after the fullstops. i dont think this procedure has changed

I still make 2 spaces after sentences, 1after commas, semi colons, etc. It is just force of habit. It doesn't look any less professional
