does your baby get bored with staying inside and the heat?

Question

My 10 month old is completely bored. She wants to go outside but then once we are outside it is way to hot for her. She doesn't like any of her toys!!!

Anyone have any activities to do with a 10month old?

We talk, we sing, she is with me in whatever I do. We have rolled balls, blew pinwheels, played with the snappy beads, stacking toys, shaped blocks, not to mention her baby einstein piano and several other baby einstein friends that talk, sing, and teach colors and sounds.

Anytime we sit down on the blankie she starts to cry. She is fed, diaper changed, she is just bored. My peditriican told me that she is developing fast for her age and she needs advanced stimulation....

My seven month old daughter loves the pool. However, with the massive heat wave we had, even doing that got to be too much. She was drinking nonstop, and exhausted and miserable. I finally kept her inside for a day. Since she likes the pool, I stuck her in the bathtub and let her go to town. I held her face down, and she 'swam'. Unfortunately, there is only so much you can do inside. Hopefully the weather will ease up soon!

Let her play with some water outside. Get a "kiddie" pool and fill it about an inch deep, and sit in it with her while she splashes. Put in some bowls, cups, spoons, whatever. Put on the sprinkler and sit with her near it so that it "rains" on you both. Take a spray bottle outside with you and mist her occasionally.

I agree my little boy hates being trapped inside but once he gets outside he runs wild. But i try to make sure we find a good shaded area.

Have you tried taking her outside early in the a.m. (shortly after breakfast)? It's usually warm then, but not nearly as warm as it gets later in the afternoon and evening. That way, she gets her fresh air and starts the day out right. :)

tslk to them, get her toys that are meant for her developmental stage,read to her, play chalk, rolling a ball, include her in everything you do.
