Junk the Camaro and get a Salean Mustang. Much faster and more reliable. Chevy Sucks.

well, anything above a 350 is a big block, and they'll all weight about the same. It would probably be better to build up the 350, because a bigblock requires a beefier front suspension to handle right, and will gulp gas even faster. Slap a turbo or supercharger on the 350, depending on the compression ration, or change the crank and rod lengths to get it close to a 400 Cid engine.

BTW, Fords suck. I had a 67 mustang, and it couldn't keep up with any of my camaros, and certainly not with my vette; it truly was a "Fix or repair daily".

I seen the other answer already inserted but you would probly want to stay away from a fuel injected motor. A complete swap to an ls1 or ls2 or any other ls based motor your looking at around $9,000 to $11,000 including computer and wiring harness and all other gadgets needed to get all the guages to work (speed, tach, oil pressure, temp and so on). I would go with a ZZ4 crate engine from gm performance parts it's a 350 c.i. and rated at 350 hp if you want more power than that there is other upgrades you can do when you order it. it goes for around $4,500 and that is complete from carb to oil pan and that includes oil and plugs already installed.

a 383 stroker is a good one if you want to keep it a small block or you could go with a 396 big block if you can find one or if you can't a 454 will do just as well as to the horsepower and torque of each motor it hard to say whether or not the motor is stock or not

If you can find one, locate the Z28 302 engine. Base 290HP, but more like 350. You can modify this engine to no end with great results.

LS1!!! gen 3 motor, 320hp+, all aluminum, cheap, light and can hit 400rwhp+ cam only easy. probably one out of a corvette would work the best. oh and best of all, i average 25mpg in a 400hp car!
