well, you agreed to let her move in and moving is a hard thing. maybe she didn't know she was a snorer and when you confronted her, you hurt her feelings and she got defensive. people can not help what they do when they are asleep!!! would you get mad at someone for something they did in your dream? so why get angry at someone who might snore; walk; or talk while they sleep. why don't you calmly talk to her and suggest nose strips or other means for her to help with her snoring? my personality would be to laugh with her about it and joke about the snoring with her(not at her). and to come up with a solution to her snoring. try not to be so harsh with people who can not control what they do when they aren't awake. asking someone to move out just for that reason is very petty on your part and very insensitive. learn to lighten up and get a sense of humor about this SMALL problem!

Have her go to her doctor. She sounds like she needs a machine to help her breathe at night.
My bf snored worse than any noise I had ever heard. He had a sleep study done, and they said he actually stopped breathing for 45 seconds out of every minute! With the machine, he breathes more regularly and seldom snores any more. The machine makes a tiny noise, but NOTHING like the snoring!
The C-PAP (continuous positive airway pressure) is placed over the nose and mouth...there are places that help fit the mask and provide the machines...and it literally stops the snoring! It is also more healthy for the person because they get a full night's sleep! If she is still on her parents' health insurance, the ins. co. will help pay for it. This is considered a health risk.

Hm... You seem to be a very patient and nice person. UNLIKE your snoring roommate. She seems to be selfish, shame-free, and maybe even a liar.
From what you say, it seems to me that she KNEW she snored and told you otherwise.
I think you and I have dissimilar personalities, but this is what I would tell her:
'I've been patient with you. I've told you about the problem nicely. I've also tried different things MYSELF to see if that would solve the problem. On the other hand, I've only got a negative attitude from you, and no effort whatsoever to try to solve the problem. I'm afraid we can't share this place any more. It's evident our personalities don't match. Just as you seem too relaxed for me, I'm sure I seem to be too strict... but that's the way things are and will always be. I'm sorry. You've got to move out.'
Ok, maybe that gives you ideas ;) LOL

Tell your roommate that you snore. I know it's going to be embarrassing for you, but you might as well put it out there. I have a roommate who snores to and he never told me. So needless to say, it irks me. If you come clean right off the bat, it will look better for you.

Maybe tell her about her snoring problem and recemend this to her! Everyone in my family is the same way it is really bad!! One of my brothers had to use a CPAP machine for a while because of his sleep apnea, but we finally found the answer to stop snoring and it is awesome!! It is a custom fitted mouthpiece that we purchased on http://www.prosnore.com it really works good and my brother doesn't even have to use his CPAP anymore!! IT IS AWESOME! GIVE IT A TRY!! PROSNORE.COM is the place!

If she's giving you that kind of attitude, I think you should throw it right back at her and just tell her to leave as a group with the other roommates. I'm not sure about the legalise of leasing a place, but if she's not a cosignor, it sounds to me that she's staying there for free. That, or you can have her be your personal gofor (errand girl) so she can earn the right to stay there.

well you might have to get mean with her in order to either get her out or at least doing something about the snoring. there are several over the counter stuff that might help but if she is not helping the situation at all then I would get mean and tell her to leave.

See if you can get the other girls to unite with you and then all of you confront her. Your snorer may be able to resist a one-on-one complaint--but not all of you together. There's strength in numbers--use it to your advantage. To be fair, and you sound like you want to be, give the snorer a reasonable amount of time to find other accommodations, but be firm and set a deadline. Good luck. And pleasant dreams!

Tell her and give her a specific date that she has to be out of the apartment. Also, put it in writing.
