Actually Sir Mix-A-Lot didn't like 36-24-36, only if she was 5'4".
The ideal size is what looks best for you and for your health.
Some people have larger bodies and cannot strive to achieve the "ideal" model size 0-2, because simply their bone structure will not allow it.
And the you have the narrow people, who are naturally skinny and trying to get bigger means putting on muscle or fat - not good either when you get overly muscular or soft.
Being healthy and strong will get you further than trying to be something as arbitrary as the ideal of beauty we have crammed down our throats these days.
About 15 years ago we were all meant to look like skeletal heroin addicts, with no hips or breasts, now we're supposed to have flat tummy's, round butts and bouncy jugs.
At this rate, all our energy goes towards reshaping our bodies to suit the current body-image. It takes focus, energy and time. Not to mention ridiculous dietary demands.
Considering that most of us lead quite a sedentary lifestyles, we should live on half a chicken breast, a handful of lettuce and a few crackers a day. How real is that?
To top it off we're supposed to work out 40-60 min a day, 5 days a week.
Do you have the time for it? I don't!
And what do you do if you have a flat butt? Work it out, right?
Here we go again into the exercises. Nothing wrong with exercising, it does make you feel better, but we get so much demand all the time for target specific exercise.
Lunges for the legs, squats for the butt, weights for the upper body, crunches for the stomach, cardio for overall fat loss.
I feel tired just thinking about it.
And overwhelmed.
So maybe we should start being our bodies and look up and start living as people.

I think the idea size for a woman depends on her body makeup. If you are comfortable with yourself and are healthy thats all that matters. Guys who want 36-24-36 probably aren't worth having anyway because they more than likely just want a show piece.

36 24 36 is disgusting. Get out of the 90's man. Only Sir-Mix Alot likes that.

I have seen a lot of different ideas. I think it depends on your bone structure (large or small boned). Also, i hear over and over again how the average woman today is a size 12-14, however...I still see sooo many other women who are like a size 4--so I think that it should just depend on whether or not you are comfortable in your skin are not...WHICH YOU SHOULD BE!!
plus, guys don't even notice when you put on 5lbs.
