Copic Markers are very popular in the professional art world amoung interior decorators and fashion designers alike because of the way they flow and blend together. They are very expensive, but worth the cost if you're looking for some of the best quality in markers. =)

They may have been AD markers. A lot of design professions use them. They have an alcohol base that may have made them look like watercolors. Prismacolor markers are also popular, but they are water-based and don't run the same way. You can get both at most art stores.
