My sister has already taken the cats to the vet for treatment, now she has to spray the house. The cats go on the stuffed toys but she can't use the spray on the stuffed animals, how does she treat the toys? Thanks

she is going to have to wash all of them in as hot as water as they can be washed in. as for the fleas after the house and cats are treated try using salt in the carpets, fleas are drawn to it because it is white, they eat the salt and dry up. I use this often because my outdoor cat even though he is treated often brings them in to share out of the neighbor's untreated yard so I found this on the internet and it really worked.
Like your sister I have little ones and the salt was a much safer alternative to chemical treatment. and the cats get not only their regular flea treatments but now they wear flea collars on top of that and as for the neighbors I use blue dawn on my yard in a sprayer so I sprayed the part of the lawn near my house and no more fleas. Dawn ( only the original blue) is safe to use on babies toys too. good luck.

First treat the cats, then put BORAX (laundry detergent) down like carpet freshener, use in on the furniture and any fabric they may reside that can't be washed. let it set. meanwhile take the stuffed animals put them in pillow cases tie the ends, wash them in borax and dry. while they are washing vacuum up the borax. May have to do twice (doubt it-depending on the infestation). And just do the borax on the carpet once in the spring...she will never have flea problem again. Borax is a miracle...no need for all those other chemicals. But will have to constantly treat the cats during the summer with advantage which everyone should be doing anyway.

Better treat the house and pet for fleas before anything else. Then treat the toys. You can actually wash them in your washer on hot water, add a little bleach (won't damage the toys) to kill the fleas. But that won't matter if you don't kill the source of the fleas first.

If they aren't too big, you might try putting them in a plastic bag and putting them in the freezer overnight or longer. I have tried it on toys that can't be washed in the washing machine, and it seemed to work on virus germs, though I don't know if it would kill flea eggs. I wiped them down after-wards with antibacterial soap and let them dry, but you may also want to vacuum them well, in addition.

Your vet or pediatrician should be able to advise you as to what you should use- I wouldn't use any over the counter flea stuff without asking them, first. They have a lot of chemicals that can cause developmental delays in infants.

I would had wash the stuffed toys, then dry in drier on delicate heat until dry. Don't use too much soap, but by immersing the stuffed toys in the warm to hot water, the fleas will be eliminated.

Wash them in hot water. Fleas don't live on inanimate objects. They need a host to survive.

If these toys are something that can't be washed, vacuum them off. Make sure to put moth balls in the vacuum bag/bin as it will kill any fleas it sucks up.

Again, just as a reminder, these are fleas not lice. Fleas need a host to survive. If they have no host, they don't stay long.

stuffed animals are sooo over rated, then carry dust mights and can actually trigger allergies and asthma attacks so weed them out of the house, little by little just get rid of them keep the special ones, but really not a healthy toy for kids to play with.

Put them in plastic bag (make sure all the air is out) in the freezer and leave them in there for a week then take them out of the freezer and while still in the bag soak them in hot water. it gets rid of germs as well as fleas. Much Luck.

If part of the problem is from the stuff toys, perhaps throw them out and buy new ones. Then keep the new stuffies (my daughter's term) tucked away from the felines.
