I agree, it makes my blood boil when i hear 'at the end of the day...' Grrr, just typing it made me twitch. Also I hate it when someone says 'smile it might never happen' or 'all's fair in love and war' ... no it isn't! 'No skin off my nose' is another. I could go on and on. Really, I hate all cliches because they lack creativity, people should think of something new to say. Rant over.

When someone says "It may never happen". Yeah well maybe it already has - what gives them the right to assume we should all put on a happy face just to make them feel better.

Annoying cliches:

"ballpark figure"; "suck it and see" (what?!) and, my least favourite ever, "24/7"... grrrrrrr!

Also, not exactly a cliche, but using the word "like" randomly in sentences.... it sounds really dumb.

"There's a first time for everything!"
No, that's not true, some things won't happen.

"I'd tell you, but then I'd have to kill you."
So obnoxious! It was clever the first time, but not the 800 quizillionth time!

I am inexplicably disgusted when I hear a waitress ask a diner, "Are you still working on that?"
