normally when your born your parents file a copy of your birth certificate with the city clerk so just call the city clerk and ask them to send you a copy you'll have to pay for it but it will be as good as the real one. PS they will only release it if you call and you have to proof to them who you are before they will send it. some city clerks require you to be there in person to request for it.

I, too, am from louisiana. You need to go to the clerk of courts office in Alexandria.

I had to go to the courthouse of the county I was born in. And it cost me $20.
