i ahve a 1998 chevy lumina with a 3.1L and i was wondering if it has the regulater was internal in the alternator or internal in the engine control monuel?

on that model the regulator is built in the alternator.

most cars nowdays have it internal in the alternator and if you check if charging by taking the battery terminal off you blow the compasiter inside and have to get a new alternator!!
