Since everybody has a problem with everything about our government, what the heck is a good government plan that would work? I think we do okay and we're FREE. Should we be communist? Then we'd all be equal? Should we be something else? Why? Should we be like Canada? They have hardly any crime. I am not a communist, I am an American that's free to do anything. I don't think our government is too bad. We do vote, into the oval office, who we want. What's so bad?

IF this was a perfect world were living in with all perfect people, a social government would work just fine.

We'd all be happy, equal work, pay, benefit for all, and in the end there would be no need to have government.
Communists government ideas were set up like this but much more dramatic. The problem with communists governments these days it they never get past stage 2 you could say, where once everything is in order and running, they relieve of their government duty and the let the people take over.

First and foremost, government is civil service. It's an ideology, to devote your mind and energy to improving living and working conditions for your fellow countrymen. As a government official you are not important in who you are but in what you do.

The ruler or leader of a government is not the whole of the government. It's a temporary position at most, regardless for how long. This goes for most of the top layer of government.

The mainstay of government are the workers, the bureaucrats, that hold position regardless of who is ruler. These middle level bureaucrats can stay in their position for an entire working life, anywhere up to forty years or more.

While we all know or suspect government corruption at the top levels, the corruption at the middle and lower levels is often overlooked or underestimated. Unfortunately, this lower level corruption can be most destructive of all, even if its monetary value is less.
Should there be tests to determine who is civic minded? There certainly should be some kind of aptitude test to determine who makes a good leader or not.

In a true democratic society we should try and find the best person for the job of leader, not whoever can put out the most cash and who has the most influential friends. In fact, these are two factors which should be considered as a negative when accepting candidacy for the top job.

Many professions have strict regulations, preceded by years of study and exams before they can call themselves professional and are allowed to practice. Why then are we lacking this trajectory for one of the most important positions in society?

Shouldn't our candidate leaders be subjected to rigorous testing to ensure their qualifications and qualities are suited to the job? Yes, they should be. Then why isn't it done?

A "perfect government" would be one that does not discriminate against any race, culture, or lifestyle. This government would not give unsolicited help to other countries. It would not simply try to "bend" the Constitution, but it would completely change it every time something unfair is brought to light. But, alas, we cannot have a perfect government without a perfect world, and that we can never have.

People like to complain... its an American Past-time. Our country was born from complainers. Boston Tea Party... just a bunch of people whining about taxes and getting rowdy.

The perfect government for ME is a total despotic government where I would be the sole dictator. Of course it would suck for you but I'd be in a better place than I am now.

In my opinion, the closest thing to a perfect government the world has even seem is America pre-1929. Of course, a truly perfect government is impossible.

There is no such thing as a perfect government becuase there is no such thing as a perfect human being.

We need to work with what we have...and try to improve it...but shouldn't be striving for perfection...because perfection is the biggest myth of all
