Never. Life is too short to work someplace that you do not like, is not challenging your skills, or within your passion. People that tell you to stay are playing it safe and usually are among the people who declare how much they hate their job.
You should start finding out what you really want to do. What gets you excited and brings out the best in you. Then move toward it without delay.
If your passion requires more education then go for it. Do not get stuck in a rut of playing it safe and being bored.

This also helps your employer. No one wants someone to work for them that does not like their job. It will begin to show up in their productivity, attitude, and work ethic.

So, find your passion and get moving.

Until you find a less boring one. This may be longer or shorter, depending on many factors, but don't forget that a new employer is going to want to know why you stayed such a short while, and the catch is, they don't want you to bad-mouth a former employer. So stay long enough to look OK on your application/resume, which is different for different fields. In fast food or retail store, a few months is plenty; in an office setting I would say a year is a reasonable minimum. It might also be long enough for the job to change and get more interesting.

That depends. How good are the benefits? How is unemployment in your area? Can you get a better job for either the same or higher pay? Do you have kids?

Whatever you do, find a job where you can wake up in the morning even on a Monday and still be glad to go in. Otherwise, any job will suck but especially a boring one!!!

My job is BORING. I am at work on Yahoo Answers. BUT, I get to bring my baby, I have no stress and I get paid pretty darn well to file and answer a few phone calls. I will stay until I find something that will support my baby going to daycare and that I LIKE to do.

So, to answer your question. Do you need the money? Is there better money to be made with your skills? If not, stay. If so, go and find a better paying more interesting job.

if your job is really boring ,

look around you for a job you would really love to do .

You may have to study/ do evening classes to get the qualifications, to let yourself into such a job.

meanwhile, become interested in the people
and the job you work at now ..
And quietly work towards your goal

Don't give up your present job, until, you have
a better job lined up waiting for you .

be honest with your new employer ,

they will give you time, to work out your notice
for the firm, you want to leave

Never just walk out , looks very bad to a new employer.
.
that is the slippery slope to no-were

good luck

Depending on the pay I'd say until you can find something better. But I'd be appreciative of any income at my age!

I'd say if there's an interesting job out there that you find go for it as long as the pay isn't 3/4's under the boring job's pay.

I've been working at my job for 7 years now. During the course of time I attend college and receive a B.A. And also interviewed for different job openings that I would qualify for. I feel you should try in enhance your skills and also apply for different jobs at the place you are currently working for.

Hah thats a good question. I am in the same situation. You should work there as long as you need to. If it pays better then anything else and you need the money stick with it til you find something better that you have always wanted to.

it may be boring...but its experience and money til you find something better

As little as possible.

Decide what you like to do, what you LOOK FORWARD to doing, and do it.

You will make a lot more money, and have a greater quality of life.

If you have a boring job, you probably do just enough so they don't fire you, and they pay you just enough to get you to show up.

Until you find something else with at least equal pay. It's easier to find employment when you are working.

Also, decide what you want to do before taking a job. Think about a career instead of a job.
