That is so true. My hand writing was superb and now it looks like lazy scribbling.

you're right...my handwriting is getting worse day by day as i'm losing touch with writing with hand and resorting to typing...for me, it's not about getting lazy with writing coz i'm not a fast typist...it's just that even at school, teachers don't accept assignments if they're not word processed and i don't wanna lose out on marks..
moreover, whenever i've to take down any notes quickly, only i can understand what i've written...my handwriting can be on the extremes (really good or really really really bad) depending on the availability of time...

I'm 13 and i go on the computer all of the time but when i write my handwriting is perfect. People always tell me how neat my handwriting is and are always asking to write stuff for them cause of how neat it is. Ive even had people just watch me write because they love my handwriting. My one friend even ask to write really fast to see if my handwriting would get sloppy but wouldnt you now it was a little sloppier but she still said it was really neat.

With current technology we just don't write as much as we used to. Good handwriting takes practice. Mine has gotten a little worse over the years. I take my time and make it as neat as possible.

I think everyone is just in a hurry. I actually believe that my handwriting has got better, but when I find myself in a rush or becoming lazy, it sometimes becomes an unreadable mix of cursive and print.

Interesting question. I think it's alittle bit of everything you've mentioned. I'm one of those people who had outstanding penmenship. Use to win all those contests in school. I still have excellent penmenship but nothing like I use to. For me personally I think it's because I'm in a hurry all the time. The internet is another major reason for not writing like I use to. What am I doing right now? Typing!!!

I used to be a faster writer than a typer. Now I write ugly and yes it is scribbled. It's probably because when i take notes in class i dont really worry about my writing but how fast i actually write them down so i never got time to perfect it.

my handwriting has gotten worse because i hardly write anymore except to sign a receipt. most everything is typed on the computer. part of it is from being lazy and part of it is my teachers' fault. i remember when i was middle or high school one of our teachers said they would not be accepting hand-written reports anymore. that was pretty much the end of it for me. its a shame. they spent so much time teaching us to write in cursive in 3rd grade and now I don't use it at all.

SO much worse.
i hardly ever use it, except to fill out forms that i think are pretty useless anyway. and because handwriting - legibile handwriting, anyway - takes so much longer.
i used to spend hours as a teenager rewriting my AP biology notes simply because i loved writing the letters as neatly as possible. (yeah i know, obsessive, geeky, call it what you will.)
but now i'm out of practice and i don't seem to want to slow down enough to do it again. sad, really.
