I have tried wasp traps...yea right, thats a joke, and I cant very well spray the wasp flying over the pool. I have sprayed all the nest, but they are coming from somewhere else. I need some kind of barrier to keep them away from the pool. Spray or dust around the pool, not the nest.

I was going to make the same suggestion as Miss Guided. All I'll add is get a bunch of these wasp traps and spread them around, away from the area you want to be. I've seen these in use at the National Zoo in DC, and they do seem to attract the wasps and yellowjackets. If you can identify a wasp or yellowjacket nest in your yard, you could call in an exterminator or spray it AT NIGHT when they are asleep, NEVER during the day when they could come out an attack. Good luck!

Buy wasp and hornet spray and spray the nests just before it gets dark, they are all in the nest then.

Buy a wasp trap and set it out on the other end of your yard. Hopefully that will make most of them interested in that spot instead of your pool.

Here are ones that don't require pesticides. They actually work really well.

wasps are attracted to water. get some yard guard and spray out side a few hours before you plan to swim.

Call an exterminator. Of course you could bundle yourself up like an astronaut and light the thing on fire and run for it. Actually that's the cheaper option.
