I stopped my Netflix membership and now I don't have a good place to look for movies before I go to Blockbuster. Any good suggestions on recent releases (comedies or indies mostly, well, actually, just not action) that I should keep an eye out for?

most people i know d not like these movies but since im completely obsessed with them id have to reccomend charlie and the chocolate factory (the newere tim burton version) and corpse bride. if you havent seen them yet, you must. they are both very qwirky, funny, weird, and beautiful movies. corpse bride has BRILLIANT annimation (stop-motion) and great voice overs by johnny depp as victor van dort and helena bonham carter as emily, the corpse bride.

charlie and the chocolate factory, youve probably heard of. there was an older version made which was called willy wonka and the chocolate factory with gene wilder, but i prefer this one. its everything i look for in a movie... its so colorful and has songs that you will get addicted to... they'll never get out of your head, but thats all part of the fun. this movie stars johnny depp as willy wonka, and freddie highmore as charlie.

both of these movies are directed by tim burton (whos my favorite director) and they are very good...

by the way, if you dont like charlie and the chocolate factory the first time you see it, watch it a second time, and it will be better. trust me ;-) i didnt like it the first time i saw it either.

You have to rent Ben Stiller's movies.. I love them!
Or what about 50 first dates it's with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.. It's cute and really funny..
And also rent "Just Like Heaven" with Reese Witherspoon.. it's cool..

You can rent recent, quality DVD's at the library for free.
Why don't you try them and choose some DVD's to watch you've never seen?
