We cannot explain adiction in this sense just taking into account those chemicals to be found in this drug, and if this is so, why is is that people get hooked on this drug?

I used to think you couldn't get addicted to pot, until it happened to me. It is a psycological wanting. I wanted to be stoned because it felt good. If I had a crappy day, I got high and I didn't care about it. It made me happy. It is happy medicine. It also cured me of having panic attacks. I have since quit, but it wasn't easy. I still want to smoke, but I don't. I may have to change jobs soon and I could pass a drug test right now, so, no pot. Not to say I wouldn't AFTER I got the job. But I will never again have to have it daily.

Some people have addictive personalities......sports fanatics, overtly religious folks, and scrappers/crafters are a few examples of addictive personality types.

None of the myriad of chemicals found in pot is physically addictive, but these chemicals in combination, with certain personalities, are viewed as psychologically addictive.
I used to smoke multiple times a day for many (25+) years. When i quit I went through no physical or psychological withdrawal. Just my personal experience.

For an analogy, equate life to a rainstorm and pot to an umbrella..... once you get dry it really sucks to get rained on.

Marijuana does promote deep thinking, artistic expression and certainly takes the edge off of stress.

While viewed as a "gateway" drug by many, pot in and of itself does not make anyone want to take stronger drugs. However, due to the underground black market network involved in the drug trade, anyone involved has access to other more potent, potentially additive substances. Add a little peer pressure and reduce some inhibitions, and presto...you have a junkie/methhead/crackhead.

IMHO, pot is far less harmful than alcohol, but with the billions of dollars earned in the alcohol and legal pharmaceutical industries, pot is seen as a threat to potential lost revenues. Money buys influence, so sadly pot will never be legal for casual use in my lifetime.

Why ar e you sitting around wasting your time wondering about stuff like this. Pot is addictive and works on the body (like nicotene). There is also a psycological effect. Do something constructive now and stop worrying about things like this.

People who are not secure in there own being often want ot escape the reality of their own lives or insulate themselves mentally from a society that encourages them to not grow up and or slave as a mindless machine and so they feebly counter by co-operating!

Because it's easier to get numb when high than to deal with the real issue which is whatever it is that they're trying to escape. I hate potsmokers by the way unless of course if it's used for MS or cancer.

It's a way to let go of the world around you, forget everyone and everything. It relaxes you and your nerves.
