Give it another week. Some machines are more sensitive than others.
My dr was able to see my baby at 6 weeks 5 days.
Here's the deal: As long as you aren't having constant cramping or any spotting/bleeding, things are probably ok. I miscarried with my last pregnancy. You'll know when it's happening and it'll happen if there's something wrong with the baby.
When I micarried, the sac was empty but there was a yolk sac. I should have been 6 weeks, but the baby was missing. I had constant, painful cramping. Then the bleeding started. By the time it was over, I was glad. I was in terrible, constant pain for almost a week.
So with that said, if you aren't having pain/cramping/spotting/bleeding, then don't worry. They're probably using an old u/s machine. Give it a week or two and they'll be able to see your baby just fine.
Worst case senerio, get a second opinion.
Best of Luck!

I was VERY luck because my yolk sac showed up very early, By the time I was 6 weeks there was more less a dot! I REALLY started to see the signs of the baby at 7 weeks. I have my ultrasound done every week! I am now 9 weeks. The ONLY reason I have mine done every week is I am a high preg. Yet, I have checked out other peoples ultrasound and seen nothing. EVERYONE is different! GOOD LUCK, BEST WISHES!

They do a trans-vaginal sonogram around 7-8 weeks, I never heard of them doing that before since there would be really nothing to see.. The sonogram at the appropriate time will show the heart beat (I framed mine my daughter's pic). Good book to read "What to expect when you are expecting" it gives you month by month what is going on with the baby, what going on with your body and what to expect at the doctor's office.
Good Luck :-)

A K 27, upgrade to an AK 101, that would be the right thing to do.
