Just be there to listen...try not to interject too many of your own thoughts and feelings. As the old saying goes, 'there's a reason why we're were given TWO ears but only one mouth"...just being there is enough. Invite him over - take him out once in awhile and if he is really REALLY dwelling ...then try to gently steer the conversation away (at least for awhile) to something else..and on the lighter side of life. Your concern for your friend shows me already you will have his back and be there for him through this to help make it a little easier for him...divorce is a rough one...but we all get by with a little help from our friends.

divorce is a sad situation no matter how you look at it... all you can do is be there him... there is no way to take away the pain or frustration or depression or anger..... support him by just being you..... he might talk your ear off, and you might even get tired of hearing the same ole story, but a true friend will walk thru fire and not cry out until the flame goes away....... good luck and God bless

Keep him busy, when he wants to talk about how awful she is agree with him, when he wants to talk about how awesome she is agree with him, let him know it DOES get better, be patient with him sooner or later you will get sick of it but its a whole process and is similar to a death and he needs to go through it all so he can move on successfully. Oh and encourage him to find one just to have fun with!

Just listen. Seriously. Even if he tells you the same shite over and over and over again...just listen. I've been through it and it sucks. I was really fortunate to have so many friends willing to just listen and be there for me.

Just keep him busy and his mind off of it. Go out and do guy stuff. No women. Fish, hunt, watch games, play poker. Just hang out.
