It is amazing to me that this whole Mel Gibson incident is being given wall to wall coverage, just like the birth of Angelina Jolie's baby. I mean sure this may be news for people who want to see it but every minute every hour is a bit ridiculous.

I think the reason why we are given more news about celebrities and stupid stuff like that rather then the realities of the world is so that we don't get scared into thinking something bad is going to happen all the time. I'd rather not hear about that stuff. There are very smart, important people taking care of it. I don't need to worry about it all the time.

I always thought Americans knew more about celebrities, until Brad and Angelina came to Africa (Namibia). I live in South Africa, and week after week, we had to read about them in the papers, magazines etc! Usually we are not so much into celebrities, but with them everything changed. Everybody in SA knew more about Brangelina then what they knew about our Petrol Price!

Absolutely. But, we learn about all of this stuff from the "news" outlets. Maybe their priorities should be checked.
