What we need, here in the U.S., are labor camps. Think about it. We could begin manufacturing goods at a competitive rate with China. We would no longer need to import so much stuff from them because we could make it just as cheap ourselves. Think about criminals. Instead of putting them up in a nice facility where they have access to cable TV, we could put them to work. How about all those leeches on wellfare? You know the ones I'm talking about. Driving a pimped out caddilac but pulling in a check every month from the govornment and doing nothing useful with their lives. Put them in the camps too. Criime would drop drastically. We wouldn't be so reliant on importing foreign goods. So many people who are useless in society would be given a purpose and something productive ot put their time and efforts into. We could use all the money we save on welfare and pay off all our national debt. It might be an easier law to pass than we think, considering most of those people don't vote anyway

Don't you realize that is already happening with the privatizing of some prisons and the organization of prison board committees?
Our economy will transition into a prison economy eventually, once our country begins to refocus on domestic affairs.

I don't know what prison you have ever visited - none of them are nice. Prisoners are living like animals and getting raped everyday.

The welfare system does not supplement a person's income enough to buy a fancy car - illegal money does. How many welfare recipients live in mansions do you know? Or people living in affluent neighborhoods using food stamps?

Welfare gives poor people just enough to still live in poverty. If the welfare program required recipients to participate in skilled job training, so that they can make enough money to support themselves there would be a lot less people receiving it.

What about these rich CEOs that are robbing thousands of working people's retirement money and paying them pennies a day.

How about the business owners who illegally write off their assets by under reporting their earnings and cheating the government out of millions.

Your protest sounds a little skewed and bigoted. Don't judge a person until you can witness the situation from their perspective.

Almost everybody is getting over somehow, and just because a person is making alot of money does not make them more useful in society.

First,
what leeches on welfare? do you know that people can only be on welfare for a maximum of two years and that this only applies to moms with kids? you wouldn't have to put them in camps - you could just pay them a decent wage.

Second, our jailed criminals do work. Look it up.

Third, you are not describing socialism, as if that would be what's wrong with your idea. You are describing slavery. Sure, we could compete great using slavery.

Lastly, you will probably be very happy to know that our government has contracted with halliburton to build huge camps in our national forests. they say it will be for 'immigration' or other problems.

See ya in the camps, free thinkers. Question asker here will be happily acting as foreman, doing sniper practice on us from his watch tower.

At this 2d Canada is seen a 'center potential'. you're nicely suited nevertheless, if Canada became into to grow to be a superpower it might choose an countless enhance in its inhabitants. although with something of the international coming up Canada would choose a large bounce in inhabitants. i do no longer assume Canada to be a superpower interior the foreseeable destiny. with the rising worldwide places of china, India, Brazil, and Turkey i do no longer assume to work out Canada getting everywhere quickly. to boot the different worldwide places that still remember on immigration are utilising them to spice up their inhabitants apart from Russia, Japan, and South Korea

That actually makes a lot of sense. The only flaw in it is that your plan probably infringes on the constitution. As far as solving any kind of problems in society, I have a plan. Germany's major export is cars because they can do it better than anywhere else. Japan's major export is computers because it can do it better than anywhere else. Korea makes cellphones better than anywhere else. You get the idea....

USA tries to make EVERYTHING and tries to make it better than anyone else, and things end up substandard in comparison. Look at poor GM: They are the world's largest automaker, but yet they are in the strictest debt plan in automotive history. And their cars can't be compared to an Audi or BMW or Mercedes. Germany just makes better cars.

What is one thing that the United States can do better than anyone anywhere else?

That wasn't a trick, I'm actually asking... If we figure that out and stop wasting our time on products that can't compete with their imported counterparts, we just might get where we're going.

Labor camps. That's it, let's look backward for solutions. How about if we just re-introduce slavery, then we could produce goods in this country really cheap.

This is the most ignorance I've seen in one place in a long time. Lets try this again but with one caveat. You plan a society, but you have to be willing to live on the bottom rung of it. If it has a prison, you have to be willing to live in it if you commit a crime, you have to be willing to be sick in it, you have to be willing to serve in it's armed forces if and when it goes to war.

Are you serious , the ACLU and other activists groups would be all over that situation and I don't think anyone would even contemplate that scenario.
