A lot depends on where you live and what the going rate is you want to be competitive. Ball park figure is around $2.50 per hour per kid. With a $5.00 minimum charge. If it's a regular job you might charge a little less with the understanding that they pay you whether they need you or not.

You are obviously an enterprising person. I mean, how many 13 year-olds work AND care enough about compensation to solicit the input of others? To me, you sound like a responsible young lady any parent would love to have as a babysitter.

Thus, I say you should charge a premium for your services. I say $8.00 per hour for one child and $4.00 for each additional child.

Also, to show parents you are worth it, tell them you are familiar with procedures on emergency calls, calls to the local Poison Control Center, and ask them about any medications or special things to note/needs for the children you are watching.

Parents don't mind paying a little extra to know that their most precious possession is in good hands. Good luck!

I think it depends on where you live and your experience. If you have a lot of experience, you should charge more, but if you don't you should charge less. Are you babysitting only one child or two? If it's more than one, you should charge more. I would probably ask for something above minimum wage of course. Ask your friends and family what they would charge as well.

You should charge 7 dollars in hour, well u r trying to make money here. 5 is too little for me, try doing 7 or 8 for maximum satisfaction.

$5 an hour for two kids. If there's more than that, bring a friend and you should each get $5 an hour.
