I've been noticing more and more kids on this. I don't if it's a good idea for a child to be on this because sometimes their a lot of nasty things said on here. What's your opinion?

Kids are probably the ones saying the nastiest things...
I don't let my kids come here, but they are more interested in neopets, anyway.

I agree with you 100%. This is not a place that kids should be. It doesn't matter if they are the ones making the worst comments. That's just another reason for them not to be here. It's not an appropriate site for kids and I think that Yahoo should do a lot more to make that clear. And of course it is up to parents to monitor their children's internet access. That goes without saying. I was very uncomfortable when I realized how many young kids were on this site and all the inappropriate questions and comments that they have access to.

No matter what 'kids' are going to be exposed to nasty things. It's mostly the kids that are saying the nasty stuff.
Everybody is exposed to it. Yahoo does a good job of trying to keep it cleaned up, so don't worry about it too much.

I think anytime you have a child/teen and you have the internet, you need to be beside them. This place is a good way for kids to toss out the questions they're too worried to ask their friends (and parents for those of you that don't facilitate open communication free of consequence with your kids), but they also get very adult responses back.
Basically, these guys can't ask their parents and friends - its why they're here. If we could fix that - we wouldn't need to worry so much.

Any parent that allows their child to be on the web unsupervised is just a lazy dumb a s s! Letting the web babysit the kid instead of paying attention to them. Look at the kind of crap they will learn on here!

Definitely not a good idea at all. Kids know too much about sex and the like today. They don't even know how to be kids anymore!

I would never let my child on this. There's too much going on. Yeah they'll be exposed to it anyway but why speed up the process. We worry about it because that's what we do as parents. That's our job, a job that alot of us still take seriously.

Yes. People on here are sometimes racist, vulgar, and completely nasty. Kids should not be allowed.

It's probably not a good idea, but parents need to be aware of the situation, monitor use and discuss issues.

What age to you is a child? I mean yes i def. think like 12yr olds should not be on this.
first they would take it to their advantage and use it to do their homework
second they would be exposed to questions pervs ask and sometimes people ask who would like to chat email me and they shouldnt learn to chat with people they dont know i mean theres a lot of predators out there and sex offenders its dangerous even adults shouldnt email people they dont know i would never
