It's not OK to push out as many babies as you want, because you feel like it. Ofcourse this does not apply to all unplanned pregnancies, but too many are brought into the world and are neglected because their parents had no plans for their future and they became society's problem to deal with. Your solution is not working. Have you ever visited a foster home, a group home, a youth detention center? Why didn't anybody "get behind" those kids as you say. Those are places were unwanted children end up.
No women should ever feel it's OK bring a child into the world into an unstable environment. Being a single mother is the fast track to povery whether you want to believe it or not. Take a look around and get your head out of the sand.

Let's start to encourage 12 year olds to get pregnant.
Let's be realistic here, the fact they point out are true. A 16 year old is not financially ready to have a child, and it will be every harder for her if she decides to go to college, she'll have to hire a babysitter unless she can get the birth father to help. Most children born to teenagers grow up without fathers and live in poverty because their mother or father, or both parents simple do not have the money nor the education.
What she SHOULD be teaching and encouraging is SAFE SEX. We should pressure the government to make the morning pill over the counter, spread the word for people to use condoms, encourage young people to become educated in sex and what it means to be pregnant and what kind of future or impact it will have on their life and if they're ready for that.

Why do you want us to start telling women it is "ok" to get knocked up and have children? We're going to be the ones supporting all these children.
As far as I'm concerned, IT IS NOT OK to get knocked up without being married and being able to support your child. There is no excuse for it in this day and age. There is no need for abortions. Women who have them are selfish, lazy, irresponsible, and moronic as far as I'm concerned.
And "America" doesn't "allow" poverty. Poverty is the result of several factors including a lack of responsibility and a lack of education. Having more children won't end that cycle.
If more women felt ashamed of their decisions we'd be a whole lot better off. Perhaps then there would be less unwanted pregnancies since women would be ashamed of opening up for some worthless man.
The reintroduction of shame to our society would solve a lot of our current problems.

The problem at hand is people using abortion as a method of birth control rather than an option when raped or to use when medically necessary. That coupled with the fact that these little girls are sexually active when they are not mature enough to make such decisions. I myself am against abortions for reasons other than rape or medical necessity, but I sure do not think anyone has the right to tell anyone else how to live their lives either. There are so many people who want children and cannot have them. I think adoption is the better route. Back to your question, yes, society puts alot of pressure on young girls today. They are not mature enough to make such huge decisions and sometimes rely on public opinion when it comes to this. It's sad really.

As much as I am against abortion, I know that women will do it and that it is keeping cost down and population down. The population in this world at the present time, and this is a big number, is seven and a half billion humans. That is a lot. I want children because I want to have a family, but if a woman does not want a child or children, who am I to tell her that she cannot do it. I also may not be able to have children, in that case, I will adopt.

If it weren't for the "religious crap" you dream of, no one, and I do mean NO ONE would be talking to women about having their kids instead of aborting them. Your end goals are good but your rationale sucks. Since when are women NOT responsible for their own desires to "look their best" or like their fantasy image, or have their own careers, etc., that is messing our society up. You are falling into an age old trap of idolizing women and losing touch with reality. Get a grip, and then work on why SOME women are so messed up with alleged eating disorders and wanting abortions, etc. I don't deny those problems exist, but I do deny that women themselves are not responsible for them, unless you're saying that some women are irresponsible, and then I might agree with you. God Bless you.

Why don't we teach men to step up to the plate and be fathers and real men? That might help. It seems that every other single female parent (including myself) has an ex who won't keep a job, pay child support, who lives beyond his means, etc. Mine is not that bad compared to the others that beat, torture, stalk, threaten, etc. their ex-wives.
And, men are oftentimes the ones who are 'talking' their girlfriends into having abortions.
There are plenty of strong women out there who are making it on their own, raising children to be good people - in spite of the fact that the childrens' fathers aren't there.
It might not be what society is teaching women - it could be what society is teaching men.

I agree whole heartedly.
Yes, some girls are sexually active way too young. What's done is done and there should be support for those young mothers who want to take the responsibility of a new life, despite what their guardians or society has to say.
The girls who are forced to go through abortion and become mentally damaged as a result of the procedure and lack of support will be the ones who are liabilities to the very society that pushed them to that corner to begin with. Not in a governmental socialist kind of way. I'm talking about our culture.
One can say "Pro Life, Pro Life" then they say "Pro choice, Pro choice" Once said decision is made, there needs to be more support, more follow up afterwards. It doesn't stop there with either side of the issue.

No. Prostitutes, crack heads, and lazy a$$ bitches who were to lazy to go get out in da world and get a descent job, is the cause of them gettin abortions. Prostitutes is to worried about a baby crampin their work system, crack heads been done killed their baby anyway or through em' in da trash some where, lazy a$$ bitches is jus lazy a$$ bitches ,who is to lazy to take care of an other person. They probably would starve they self bcuz they too damn lazy to fix they self somethin to eat!, but that's jus my opinion I have nuttin against those people, i'm jus not 1 of em.' And for the young girls between 13 and 17 most of the times it's not their decision whether to keep da baby or not, but that don't mean the grandparents couldn't had it adopted. there's no excuses for abortions. I know having a kid with " problems" is tough, but all u can do is b there for him/her. I'm directing this towards the many that have absolutely nothing wrong with there child, that have a child with great health, but quickly ends there life before it can even begin. Like I said their is no excuse for abortions, u'll figure it out, take responsibility for your actions. Don't let a child suffer for ur mistakes.

actually, young women who are poor and uneducated SHOULDNT be having babies. abortion is a good thing.
Roe vs. Wade is the single most important cause in the amazing decline in crime in the US in the early 1990s.
thats because children who grow up in broken homes with no father and uneducated, poor mothers (those who before Roe vs. Wade couldnt get abortions because they were either too expensive or illegal) are the most likely to grow up to be criminals.
So as soon as this generation of would-be criminals reached about 18 years old (1990 was 18 years after Roe vs. Wade) the crime rate suddenly dropped.
Thats because all those future would-be criminals were NEVER BORN IN THE FIRST PLACE. and we have Abortion to THANK.
So unless you want crime rates to go way up again in the future, we need to keep abortion in place.
furthermore, the planet is overpopulated. the United States is overdeveloped. we dont need to keep increasing the population. we should keep the population as it is, or even get it to godown.
in fact, the White population in America is decreasing. the only reason that the overall population in America continues to rise is because African Americans and Latinos continue to have more children.
I'm not a racist or euginist. I'm a social scientist. (and I'm a liberal at that). I'm simply relaying the facts.
Go read Freakonomics. He talks all about the above phenomenon of abortion reducing crime.
