Trip had an ordinary life, or at least as ordinary as you can get for a slave, but that was only until she struck a deal with another slave and ran away. With pressure mounting from the Enchanted Lands and a war on Malthra's doorstep, Trip may have bit off more than she can chew when she findes herself at the center of the conflict. Will her deal have been the worst mistake of her life or will she recieve enough help from a gecho named J?

It sounds like it has possibilities, but execution of a story idea means more than the idea. Too many ideas are done badly. Try it out. Take your ideas and turn them on their heads and look at them to see if there is a new way to approach the ideas. Write the story and see where it leads you.

If you like what you've written, read it out loud to yourself and see what it sounds like. If you still like it, prepare it for publication (correct manuscript format, clean copy), find marketplace guidelines and send it out. You can find guidelines, manuscript formatting, etc. out on the web. If you submit for publication include an SASE (self-addressed, stamped envelope).

Also, before you give it to someone to read, please correct the grammar, spelling and punctuation. I used to edit and, trust me, if you don't care enough to clean up the story before you send it out, an editor won't bother to read it.

Best of luck with your writing career.

It sounds like your not getting original enough. The gecho idea sounds a lot like the Enchanted Forest series. I write stories myself, and from one author to another let me just say that your going to need more if your going to write a novel!

I might. Is the work complete? If not, you should be aware that the idea for a book is the easy part. New writers usually run out of steam after 2-3 chapters. If you can get up to 50,000 words, you can probably finish. Good luck.

I'm not really sure.

I tend to pick up a story and read a chapter or two before I really decide if I like it. Unless of course, I find it hard to do that. Which I rarely (if ever) do.

I might read it, I might not. It depends.

Probably not, but then I don't really like sci-fi books. And it sounds a little too complicated for a children's book. I'm not really sure where it might fall. And the gecko is kinda random.

I think that sounds good! I like that you are reading the back of the book because you can't just judge a book by its cover. (looking at the front!) =) Start it and if it isn't good, you can always pick something new!

It sounds very interesting. Your summery makes it sound as though it is full of action and adventure. As long as the rest of the story follows suite then I would most definitely read it.
