The Evil Dead was like a fore runner for it's time. I know it's cheesy now, but I was about 10 when it first came out and I have to admit it scared me. However now you just have to laugh at it!!!

Evil Dead is a cult classic. I have seen it and its first sequel Evil Dead 2. Its not supposed to be scary or stupid. It takes a certain kind of person to love that movie.

Yeah.. it's more corny/funny than scarey though.. Sam Ramey made it in college (on college money.. which is not much!!).. Evil Dead 2 & Army of Darkness are the follow ups.. They're funny and full of great one-liners..
I personally enjoyed them..

Yes, and I love it!! Actually, Evil Dead II is much, much better. Army of Darkness is great, too.
I view these as comedies, not horror movies. They are some of thie funniest movies I've ever seen. Great camera angles and effects, too!
BTW, for anyone who loves these movies and Bruce Campbell... check out Bubba HoTep from 2002. Another great movie, about a mummy, Elvis in his 60's, and a black JFK at a nursing home in a small Texas town. Believe me, if you like ED, you'll like this!

That movie isn't stupid! It IS a classic, and if you don't like it, fine, don't watch it! But don't take away from others joy of watching this wonderful movie! Afterall, without that movie, games like Duke Nukem wouldn't have been made!

Yup, I loved that movie! It had a few parts that were sorta scary, but mostly it was funny. Check out Army of Darkness if you haven't already. Evil!Ash makes it worth your while.

Yeah, it's good for a laugh that's about it. The effects and the make-up are Horrible, however my man insists that it is a classic~ lame

I did.Think the make up and some scenes were awful and gory.makes your eyes turn sour.You can call it scar eye movie.Not in the same class of Omen, and Exorcist.

It was scary if you watched if back in 83. I wouldn't expect it to be scary in 2006.
