Hi there. I have tried both and neither helped with my spots. The best thing i have tried is freederm cream/gel that you can get over the counter from most pharmacies! it really works for monthly break outs if you use it every day. Good luck finding something that works for you. Just remember don't touch your face (as this was my main problem) and make sure if you have long hair it is clean so it doesnt add oil to your face. I found drinking at least 2 litres of water a day helps too!

My family planning doctor advised me that microgynon actually makes you prone to spots. I swapped back to cilleste and my skin has really improved. My friend takes dianette for hers but i don't think it's fully recodnised as a contraceptive pill in this country yet. hope this helps

Hormonal birth control should be a last option for a woman seeking either a birth control method or treatment for a serious health condition such as endometriosis.

Hormonal birth control works by suppressing your menstrual cycle, this not only causes problems for your bodies cycles on the whole but also makes it harder for you to care for your reproductive health because there is no way of following what is normal for your menstrual cycle.

Hormonal birth control is a radical form of birth control that effects your whole body and can have many side-effects, many of which are not made known to those taking hormonal methods because they are largely unrecognised or simply not brought up by doctors who use hormonal birth control most often as a way to avoid doing their job correctly to best benifit your health.

For spot prevention hormonal birth control is just ludicrous, to say the least, if you have spots then treat them by normal means – Oil Cleansing Method is beyond a doubt the best way to deal with spots.

If the spots are hormonal and you are not a teen (spots are normal in teenage years, adding more hormones to your body is a hindrance not a help) then seek real treatment, don't use somehting so extreme as hormonal birth control to deal with something like spots - birth control is just that, birth control, it is not there to help with spots.

Diannette is best.
Zinc supplements, water, multi vits, cod liver oil, B complex. Vitamins specifically for skin are sold now everywhere. Hands spread infection on face so leave face alone and stop scrubbing and picking as this spreads infection. Severe case get antibiotics from your doctor.
