all that stuff about guys not being able to be "just friends" w/ girls is a bunch of bs. i have friends who are girls and you might view them in a sexual way at first but after a while, they just become friends.

Yes, it is possible to have a friend of the opposite sex with out having any desires or fantasy towards them. I have a few friend of the opposite sex that I have never had those kinds of feelings towards.

Yes, there are such things as platonic relationships.
Everyone is different so time will tell if you begin to feel anything for that person. I cannot say if the other person would be offended or feel flatery or even the same feelings toward you. Only you and that person know for sure.

I have platonic male friends and so does my husband (female friends) we all have a great communication and there has never been any desire to sleep with the others. We value our friendships with the opposite sex, like we would our same sex friends, we value them on our likes and dislikes easiness to talk too and get along with and the normal stuff that makes a good friendship. And yes occasionaly you will find that sometimes friends especially if they are in a growth period in their lives may become more attratctive to you My husband and I were friends before we become lovers.

It is really desirable that any relations with the opposite sex start out as friendship. It is always possible to become more than just friends, but you would still want to be friends. It's like the game of pony express. It's just like the game of post office with a little more horsing around.

It is very possible to have a platonic relationship with a person of the opposite sex. I had (he died) that kind of a relationship with a friend for 30 years and in fact helped him find the "right woman" who he eventually married. They were very happy for the short time they had together until, unfortunately, he got sick and died. I miss him terribly.

Platonic friendship with the opposite sex is very healthy! It's great to interact with others in a non-sexual atmosphere...it will only serve to help you find a great partner when you're ready.

of course you can have a non sexual friendship with a person of the opposite sex. but it sounds like you have a thing for this person already, so do whatever you think is right. if they are a good friend and you let them know you like them it could be awkward, and if you don't let them know it could eat at you forever.

I think that people of the opposite sex can just be friends. It all depends on the maturity level of both individuals involved. Don't let people tell you that you have to have sex with every man you meet. Because guess what you won't. Most of them will just be your friend.

Based on my own experience, people of the opposite sex can and should be friends. People who think otherwise have distorted views pertaining to relationships.
