Easy. I think the word "defeminize" fits the bill.

Is there really a suitable feminine alternative?

If the term is just used in it's "make weaker or less effective" context then I suppose it works either way.

But in the way I think you are actually asking the question the word originates from the 17th century Latin for "castrate".
And castration is something done to males, something having a similar effect may be done to females but it isn't called the same thing.

So maybe this is just one of those words that don't translate across in that manner and you have to use an alternative word for the meaning you require.

Emasculate Antonym

This is too easy. "Effeminate" of course. And, by the way, emasculate is a verb, not a noun. So it is not "the loss of masculinity" it is "to cause the loss of masculinity." And the "loss" can be physical or psychological or symbolic or . . . Effeminate, however, is a noun, and while it is not a perfect antonym of emasculate, it does connote the weakening of the female spirit and female vitality.

However, your original question was "what is the opposite . . . ?" In this case, I would recommend using the word "remasculate."
