A lot of jobs that you apply for require for you to have a security clearance, and if you don't have one, can you buy one through some type of agency?

NO. Security clearances are not for sale.

A company will sponsor your clearance if they want you that bad of if you're elected to Congress.

Nope. The employer has to apply for the clearance on your behalf. They can only do that once you've been hired.

If you have previously held a clearance, it can be reactivated without a BI if you are hired into a new position requiring a clearance within a certain period of time. That's highly desireable since it can take up to 2 years to complete a security clearance. That's the reason for the advertised security clearance requirement.
