I caught my 16 year old in his room with his girlfriend and they were naked. I asked them what they were doing and he said they were playing doctor.

Since he wants to be a podiatrist when he's older, I figured it was pretty innocent. But I really don't want him to have sex out of wedlock and I know this game could potentially lead to that.

Should I make a rule about not playing doctor or am I just worrying about nothing?

Lol. They weren't playing doctor . . . if you suspect they were doing something, they probably were.

Kids should stop playing doctor when they know where all the parts go. (around 9 or 10)

A podiatrist doesn't look at the entire body anyway. A podiatrist just deals with people's feet. Did his girlfriend need to undress in order for him to look at her feet?

If you're really asking these kinds of questions, you probably need to pick up a book on parenting . . "Parenting for Dummies" and "Stupid Things that Children Say that Parents Fall For"

Here's the thing... 16 years old... they are not playing doctor they are totaly having sex.
of course it is very dificoult you can not put a rule about playing dr. if your son wants to have sex it's ok if you forbid it then he's going to do it anyway.
I thing you should have the sex talk and make sure he understands how he can hurt a girl his age by just having sex and that he needs to be carefull use a condom etc.

Good luck

"Since he wants to be a podiatrist when he's older, I figured it was pretty innocent."

Turn on your brain, that is NOT innocent when he's 16 years old. He was or going to have sex. I suggest you learn about hormones this has nothing to do with his future career choice.

HE IS HAVING SEX!! he didn't want you to know because you don't want him to have sex outside of wedlock! you should let him have fun as a kid. just give him the sex talk before he does anything else that leads him to getting her pregnant. talk to him about sex. tell him everything. most of the young people that are pregnant or have had a kid never got the sex talk. they were young and nieve. so they ended up pregnant because the parents don't think of talking to thier 13 yr old about sex and how to keep from getting pregnant!!!!

If you believe they were playing doctor then you are the dumbest parent on earth!!
My parents are happy for me to go around the house topless, even when male friends are around, because I always swim topless. But under no circumstances am I allowed to have a guy in my bedroom.

LOL!!!

You feel for that????

I thought that you were talking about little kids.

I was going to say that kids shouldn't play doctor once they learn that" down there" looks differently.

Tell your son that was a good one.

He's too old to be playing doctor, and too young to be having sex.
