They seem to have simmular frames(body size), in the comics...Has there ever been a bench press compition between the two?

The hulk is by far a lot stronger than Thing. As far as the size being similar is trivial. The madder Hulk gets the stronger he gets. Thing has a top limit to his strenth of 85 tons. Hulk's strength level is unknown. Here's some other stats.
Thing:
Height : 6' 8"
Weight: 1,500 lbs.
The Hulk:
Height: 8'
Weight: 2,000 lbs.
So hulk even has a height and weight advantage.

The Hulk and the Thing are both pretty much even when it comes to strength, but in a fight the Hulk would win because he constantly gets stronger.

Hulk is the strongest superhero in the marvel universe ...
even aside from the cosmic character (silver surfer etc .. )
Hulk is know as the character that is "The strogest there is" ..
During the first secret war the hulk held up a mountain (90+ tons)
and no .. there is no bench press compitition .. but there really should be one ...

Without a doubt it's the Hulk. When did the Thing ever take on the Avengers? Also Hulk kicked the Thing's butt more than once. As for the comment that he needs to get angry to get stronger, please remember Mr. Joe Fixit - the grey Hulk persona

There was a graphic novel where the "Spiky" Thing fought the Grey Hulk. It ended in a stale mate.
It would come down to who got more creative. The Hulk almost lost because the Thing pinned him face down in 6 inches of water and kept punching his kidneys.

The Hulk .... it has been stated in the comics that if he could stand off of it and get mad enough The Hulk could move the earth.

Hulk would win. The angrier he gets, the stronger, unlike the thing which only has a certain amount of strength. The hulk has limitless strength.

I have to go with Thing. He is always strong whereas the Hulk has to get pissed before he can bench press a truck.
