I recommend "Tokyo Love Story" which became a phenomenon in the early 1990's in Japan. Even Crown Princess Masako saw the drama!

This isn't a Japanese drama, but it was played in Japan and became a major hit.
It's a Korean drama called Winter Sonata (goes by Winter Ballad as well) It's a mushy love story, but it's really great!

i really don't know the title of this japanese drama but i would pay a hundred bucks just to have a copy of this drama. it is about the a boy and a girl and the girl's bestfriend fell in love with the boy. the OST is "Ben" by Michael Jackson.
