If you are handy, you can try buying an used laptop of the same model (gutted) pretty cheap on EBay, and replace the broken parts yourself. We had a thinkpad laptop and the screen went on it. for about $50 we got a used laptop (no memory, no disk, no battery) and we were able to fix our original one, with parts to spare.

Well it depends on where you live. Here in my country it costs very much to buy a laptop, so repairing would be a better choice; you can ask a customer service to get the info about the price of getting it fixed. But if it's only the keyboard & if you see that it isn't worth fixing it, you can at least buy a separate normal keyboard & use the laptop with that keyboard as a desktop PC.

You must open the laptop and remove the ram card and keep them out the laptop for 2 days. Then put them back and all be ok. Be very careful you must put them in the same way you took them out otherwise you will blow the ram cards and you will have to get a new motherboard. So be cautious.

It depends how old it is and if it is still under warranty. If it is under warranty, then I would definately fix it. If it is pretty old, I would buy a new one.
